The following are useful facts to assist your visit to Bangkok:
- Thailand Digital Arrival Card: Before your arrival into Thailand, you will need to complete the Digital Arrival Card and follow the instructions once it has been issued. You will be asked to present this upon arrival at Customs & Immigration at the airport. Foreigners are required to submit their arrival card information 3 days in advance of their arrival date in Thailand.
- Climate: In late October, Bangkok typically experiences warm and humid tropical weather as the rainy season tapers off. Average daytime temperatures range from 30°C to 33°C (86°F to 91°F), while evenings are usually around 24°C to 26°C (75°F to 79°F). Brief, heavy rain showers are still possible, but they are often short-lived and followed by sunshine. This time of year brings lush greenery across the city, with a mix of sunny periods and passing clouds.
- Language: The official language of Bangkok is Thai. English is widely spoken in hotels, conference venues, and major tourist areas.
- Currency: The official currency is the Thai Baht (THB). Credit cards are widely accepted at hotels, restaurants, and shopping centers, though small vendors may prefer cash. There is a cash machine at the hotel. For the current exchange rate in your currency, visit www.xe.com.
- Electricity and Adapter Plug: In Thailand, the most common plug types are Type A, Type B, and Type C:
- Type A: Two flat parallel pins
- Type B: Two flat parallel pins with a grounding pin
- Type C: Two round pins
- The standard voltage is 220 V, and the frequency is 50 Hz. If you are traveling from a country with a different plug type or voltage, you may need a plug adapter and possibly a voltage converter, depending on your device.
- Conference Dress: The dress code for the Conference is business casual. Lightweight, breathable clothing is recommended, along with an umbrella or light rain jacket for occasional showers. Air-conditioned indoor venues can feel cool, so a light layer may be useful.
